First Baptist of South Orange celebrates its 120th year! Many changes have occurred throughout the world since the humble beginnings of our ministry. Society has gone from horse and buggy carriages, to street cars, planes, and submarines, and of course space shuttles, wireless cell phones, flat screen TV’s, and high flying drones. Through it all FBCSO has constantly tried to remain relevant and adapt that we may better address the needs and opportunities of the community we serve. In the midst of 120 years of change, one thing in particular has remained a constant at FBCSO; it’s swinging red doors. Through these doors, worshippers from everywhere have been invited into the House and presence of the Lord.

In this spirit, for its 120th anniversary, FBCSO is unveiling the rebranding of its logo. The rebranding highlights several areas; first, the rebranding and new logo highlights a 120-year milestone with rich history. The rebranding and new logo design was a team effort which came to life by a website committee of FBCSO and a local web-designer, RayZo Marketing, Inc., and Squared Brain Web Design as a consultant. Secondly, notice how the rebranding and new logo also boast of the Cross, meant to internment our faith and God’s love for the world. The color red identifies us as covered by the blood of Christ, while also capturing the alluring appeal and 120 years of the inviting presence of our red doors. The vision statement lettering within the new logo is also in red and lends itself to a red swagger, maintaining a sense of direction and purpose for centuries to come. Finally, the simple yet majestic shape and design for the rebranding and new logo is media friendly and a modern design meant to attract fresh new audiences, but at the same time it is stately and rooted in the tradition of the Church and her sacred mission.

As an University Educator and a Catholic Worship Leader in San Francisco, I must say: This is truly a radiant website, and the new logo is absolutely amazing.
I am truly impressed by the ministries, as well as, the personal preparation the Pastor has done to ensure the Church holds to the teachings of the Gospel, while at the same time, being relevant for the 21st century! May Jesus be proclaimed as Lord to the glory of God the Father.
